Hello, my name is John Ellis. I am retired after 22 years working in the advertising department of a large west coast newspaper, now I am able to devote time in pursuit of my passion for photography and watercolor painting. I enjoy digitally altering images from otherwise dull and unremarkable photos into pleasing works of art. If I look long enough at a photo and have enough cups of strong coffee, I eventually find an interesting area to enhance into something that can be quite beautiful. It is this process and challenge which I enjoy so much. I hope viewing the results of my efforts will be to you a source of joy as well. I also enjoy painting in watercolor and have included some of my favorites in their own gallery.
I am married to perhaps the most patient woman on the planet - my wife Rebecca Lynn. We have been happily married since April 18th, 1998. We met via the Internet; she in Austin, TX and I in Vancouver, WA. Becky is a retired Army Major, a veteran of 20 years service in the Army Nurse Corps. She is now a professor of Nursing at a local college but is looking forward to retirement soon.

Nana's Watercolor Corner is in honor of my mother, Marti, who passed away at the age of 91 on April 1, 2012. She was a prolific watercolor artist who never got around to showing her art. So I offer you her gallery on my sit to enjoy. God bless!
