Sigthor Markusson
Bio
I’ve always been a visual person. As a teenager I spent a lot of time drawing and painting. When I found my limitation as a conventional artist I gravitated towards photography, photographing what I could not draw. That led me to a career in photography. Although I have photographed people, beauty and swimsuit, most of what I do is product photography. I love the challenges of lighting a product.
Few years ago I started a personal project called Bare Landscapes, mostly available light photography, shot in Iceland. That project got published in a hardcover coffee table book and the images are for sale as Fine Art Prints (www.barelandcapes.com). It is important to me to mix it up a little bit and test my creative side. The Life Form images are a project of freezing liquids in time. I set out to shoot something totally different but it evolved into what you see here.
