Tony Murtagh, who is now happily retired after a career spent in sales and marketing management, took photography up as a serious hobby in 2010 after buying his first decent digital camera (a Panasonic Lumix) prior to going on safari to Kenya in the February .
He has now changed to a Cannon DSLR and has had photographs published in the national and international press including the UK, France and Australia and in a variety of other publications worldwide..
In January 2013 his photo of a 'Three Headed Giraffe' was a finalist in the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year in the Wildlife section and his image of a Black Backed Jackal is being included in a reference book of the ‘A Field Guide to the Larger Mammals of Tanzania’ due to be published in June 2014.
He lives in Bicester, Oxfordshire and enjoys photographing landscapes, wildlife and plants and flowers, both locally and in Europe and Africa.
